Pyongyang, DPRK - On July 23-25 the Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS) and the DPRK Foreign Ministry's Institute for Disarmament and Peace (IDP) held a series of round tables on nuclear issues. The discussions focused on the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, nuclear nonproliferation, and nuclear safety. More info

Moscow, Russia - The Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS) held the workshop on ‘‘The Iranian Nuclear Policy: Observations from Tehran and Busheh' . CENESS Director Anton Khlopkov shared his observations and impressions from the visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Bushehr NPP, and meetings with officials and experts from country's leading think-tanks. Representatives from Russia MFA, State Corporation 'Rosatom' and academia took part in the workshop.

Moscow, Russia - Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS) co-organized the workshop on ‘Prospects for Russian-U.S. Arms Control'. This roundtable workshop, involving invited officials, analysts and diplomats, considered each interested party's objectives, the political and technical opportunities the next round of talks could bring, and discussed possible areas and ideas that could help advance progress for possible negotiations on strategic and nonstrategic nuclear weapons. The event was also co-organized by Arms Control Association (ACA), the British American Security Information Council (BASIC), and the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy Hamburg (IFSH). Moscow, Russia - The Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS) held the workshop on ‘Helsinki Conference and WMD Free Zone in the Middle East: What Iran's Interests Are?'. The keynote speaker was Dr. Mostafa Dolatyar, Director General of the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS), Tehran, Iran. 35 Russian experts from think-tanks, MFA and Rosatom officials and foreign diplomats took part in the workshop.
